My little hiker

On our recent trip to Cumbria we went for a lovely walk above Ullswater in the Lake District. Sam and I really enjoy walking so it would be great if Matilda loves it too. Well, she seemed to enjoy her first Lake District hike - she slept in the sling for the first part, had fun roaming around during lunch, happily went back in the sling while we descended the steepest parts of the route, then strolled the last bit herself, even using Grandad's walking pole for some of it! So far, so good!

A birthday outing

Some lovely friends of ours treated us to an outing to Shortwood Organic Farm for Matilda's birthday. We went on Saturday and had a good time, despite the showery weather and the fact that Matilda was a bit peaky. We've met some interesting people and made some firm friends since moving to Malvern in October. Ordinarily we struggle to make friends as Sam and I are both a bit shy, but having a baby gives you an excuse to talk to people and provides an opportunity to meet lots of new people! I never expected to find so many people on our wavelength though - I feel very lucky!

Bluebell woods

Yesterday we had a lovely walk to our local woods to admire the bluebells. The hillside is covered with a carpet of blue - a sight that sold the area to us when we visited for the first time a year ago. Lovely to be able to glimpse it from our window now!
