Up hill, through forest

The fantastic weather we're having has meant we've been out exploring even more than usual. On Tuesday we had a lovely stroll through the Forest of Dean, chatting to new friends. Then on Wednesday we joined our local mums walking group for a hike up into the hills, with a well-earned cake break at St Anne's Well. Loving the lovely weather :)

Sunny days

We had a lovely weekend in the sun, enjoying the cloud- and plane-free skies. We had a walk up near British Camp and Matilda had her first picnic (following a long search for somewhere flat and shady!). It was hard to believe how warm it was for April. So nice to be able to spend so much time outdoors, enjoying our new surroundings.

On the beacon

Made it to the top of the worcestershire beacon! Matilda slept in the Ergo on my back the whole way up. Now we're having a well earned picnic and i'm testing out blogging on the go!

Isn't that a pip?!

What's in a name? I've been trying to start this blog for ages (well, since Matilda was born really) but I could never get passed the 'name your blog' screen. Well today I was looking round the room for inspiration and saw Matilda playing with her favourite board book. I don't know what it is she loves about it so much (perhaps it's the chunky feel and the big mirror page). It's all quite random (but maybe it makes perfect sense if you've watched In The Night Garden!) but I can't help but smile at the last page with the big mirror and "Isn't that a pip?!".

On the move (with no trousers)

The washing machine has broken and until it's fixed Matilda is in disposable nappies. This has an unexpected side effect that her trousers keep falling off. I tried to take a photo but she was too quick for me!

Introducing...

Here we are, me and Matilda, trying out back carries in front of the mirror. At 9 months, Matilda is getting a little heavy to be carried on my front for too long so I desperately need to master the back carry... Luckily we have an Ergo too, which makes things easier, but I can still only get Matilda into a back carry with the aid of another person, or a sofa to hover over!

Anyway, I intend for this blog to be a record of our family life. I hope we can look back on it and remember all the fun things we did together. I hope you enjoy reading it too!
